How does wireless internet work?
4G LTE and 5G wireless internet both use cellular networks to transmit data via radio waves, but they differ in speed and technology. 4G LTE (Long-Term Evolution) provides high-speed internet by connecting your device to a nearby cell tower, which sends data over a network of base stations. It offers faster speeds and lower latency than previous generations, making it suitable for streaming, browsing, and video calls.
5G, the next generation, uses advanced technology like higher-frequency radio waves and more cell towers to achieve significantly faster speeds, lower latency, and greater capacity. This allows for faster downloads, smoother streaming, and supports emerging technologies like autonomous vehicles and smart cities. Essentially, 5G provides a more efficient, high-performance network compared to 4G LTE.
Both options through Star WiFi can come with unlimited plans for home internet and internet for businesses.
Is there a data limit? How unlimited is “unlimited” ?
What does “Unlimited” really mean when it comes to data plans? The term often evokes thoughts of endless possibilities, much like an open road symbolizing limitless travel. However, in the context of 4G LTE networks, “unlimited” has a more nuanced definition that deserves a closer look.
While there are no strict limits on the amount of data you can use, the shared nature of network resources means your experience is affected by others. Just as traffic can slow down a journey, heavy data usage by some individuals can impact the network’s performance for everyone. To manage this, carriers use algorithms that monitor traffic in real-time, identifying and alleviating congestion.
If your data consumption becomes excessive—such as continuous heavy streaming or large downloads—the carrier may temporarily reduce your speeds. This process, known as de-prioritization, isn’t intended to punish a user, but rather to ensure a balanced and stable experience for all customers.
What is de-prioritization?
Imagine a busy highway where everyone is trying to drive at the same time. If too many cars are on the road, traffic can slow down for everyone. To manage this, authorities might temporarily reduce the speed limit for cars in the fast lane to ensure that other drivers can continue to move efficiently.
Similarly, mobile carriers use de-prioritization to manage network traffic in crowded areas. During peak times, heavy data users might experience slower speeds temporarily. This approach ensures that crucial services, like emergency communications, stay fast and reliable. Fortunately, these slowdowns are usually brief—lasting only a few minutes or hours—helping maintain a fair balance for all users of unlimited internet.
Are there any hidden fees?
In short, NO!

There are no charges for data overages or extended usage, so you can use your unlimited internet plan for home or your business as much as you need, without worrying about unexpected costs. State taxes may be applicable.
My device isn’t connecting. What should I do?
First assess a time line to determine if the device is doing an automatic update. Was the service working then suddenly stopped? If so, look at the lights on your device to indicate if your device is going through an update. A singular power light or the device appearing as if it’s rebooting will be a clear indicator if your device is going through an update. If your service doesn’t return after 20-25 minutes, please give our support team a call at (855) 311-7827 or chat or email support@starwifi.info. Please do not unplug or reboot your modem repeatedly, as it will interrupt if there is an ongoing firmware update.
What are the terms of the “Money Back Guarantee”?
First and foremost, thank you for trusting Star WiFi to provide you with the best experience we possibly can. Our “Money Back Guarantee” goes beyond being just a policy; it’s a promise to ensure you’re completely satisfied with our mobile 5G and 4G LTE broadband services. If our service doesn’t meet your expectations, we’re committed to making it right. If you’re not happy, we offer a full refund for the equipment cost if endured, as long as the equipment is returned within 14 days of purchase and is received in the same condition as it went out. The device must be returned in its original condition and packaging within the 14-day period.
Please note that a few exclusions apply: this guarantee does not cover the SIM card (if applicable), activation fees, prepaid plans, or shipping costs. If you decide to cancel, you’ll be responsible for return shipping. If the device is returned damaged, you may not be entitled to a refund on device rental or purchase fees.
